How it all started

The Minnesota Wild team was founded in 1997. The Minnesota Wild is apart in the Central division and the Western conference of the NHL. The Minnesota Wild is the first NHL franchise since the Minnesota Northstars moved to Dallas in 1993. The Minnesota wild won their first game with a score of 3-1, defeating the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, and recorded their first win against the Tampa Bay Lightning 5 games later. Th Minnesota wild play at the Xcel energy center. In the 2002-2003 NHL season the Minnesota Wild made their first Stanley Cup appearance, Making it to the Western Conference Finals. As of 2014 the Minnesota Wild have made a .532 point percentage since entering the NHL. Minnesota was without a NHL hockey team for 7 seasons since the Northstars left. The name of the Minnesota wild was chosen from a group, that group had 6 choices as to what the new name would be, Blue Ox, Freeze, Northern Lights, Voyageurs, White bears and the wild. so far the Wild has has won 38 games for the 2014-2015 NHL season.
